NeoCon 2019 Wrap Up and Review

NeoCon 2019 was held June 10-12, 2019 in Chicago at The Mart. It’s a much anticipated event for the commercial design industry as well as dealers throughout the county. We sent a few of our best were they noticed new trends but also reiterated some of our favorite products and designs.

At NeoCon, Herman Miller presented All Together Now, an immersive exhibition exploring the expanding and nearly endless design possibilities of Herman Miller Group’s growing global family of brands. Member brands of Herman Miller Group include Colebrook Bosson Saunders, Design Within Reach, Geiger, HAY, Maars Living Walls, Maharam, naughtone, Nemschoff, and Herman Miller. All Together Now featured a dynamic breadth of more than 450 authentic designs geared toward modern living, healing, learning, and working within the re-imagined Herman Miller Chicago showroom.

As we’ve seen in recent years, the trend toward a balance of traditional and residential continued, leaning toward a more residential feel with soft seating, wallpaper and softer colors.  Collaborative spaces still dominant in both the showroom settings and supporting furniture collections.  Being able to move in the workspace was highlighted with movable, reconfigurable furniture components that can be moved as needed. We also saw a continued return of visual and acoustical privacy elements to support focused work as well as integrated sit-to-stand and tons of options for personal storage.

Many of our preferred partners won stellar awards this year, including Best in Case Goods, Best in Acoustic Privacy and Modular Solutions, Conference Room Furniture, healthcare guest and lounge seating and many others. We are excited to start designing spaces with the newer products that we saw that have just come out or will be coming out later this year. Including the new Lino and Verus from Herman Miller.
